38 Weeks Pregnant...and still going strong!

How far along? 38 Weeks
Total weight gain:  17 lbs from prepregnancy weight (25 lbs from my post-morning sickness weight at 9 weeks)
Maternity clothes? Yeah baby!
Stretch marks? None (knock on wood)
Sleep: Maybe 6-7 hrs/night.
Best moment this week: When Brian came home from work early. First time this month we got to spend time together!

Miss Anything?  Biking in general - miss that!
Movement: Tons of it! She likes to hit my cervix. I joke that she is 'knocking on the door to get out!"
Food cravings: No
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender: Girl

Labor Signs: No contractions
Effaced: 70 %
Dialated: 2-3 cm
Baby's Position: -1 (i guess thats pretty low!)
Symptoms: Sore joints and pelvis.
Belly Button in or out? So far out. Its silly!
Wedding rings on or off? Still fits

Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm all over the place. The smallest things will make me laugh hystarically, or cry uncontrollably. Poor Brian! Thanks for putting up with me.
Looking forward to: Meeting "Baby Girl Johnson" and seeing Brian and Owen's reactions to this new little angel. Oh, and breastfeeding. I enjoy that quite a bit :-)

I made brian take more than just 1 photo today. It got a little silly at the end :-) Here are a few of them.

36 Weeks - I Did It!!

Wow - I can't believe I made it to 36 weeks. Yay me! Yay baby girl!
Here is a pic of my gigantic belly. (I'm still 10 lbs smaller than i was at 34 weeks when pregnant with Owen. How did I manage that?)
Thanks Mom for the cute shirt :-) And the good genes...no stretch marks yet (knock on wood)

34 Weeks - and still pregnant!

I'm technically 34 and 1/2 weeks pregnant. Every day closer to that 40 week mark is important! Especially when I'm carrying around this extra little person. Amazing how much just a few pounds can effect your center of gravity and everything else. I feel like a camel with the 'hump' on the wrong side of my body. haha. Now that creates a funny image....imagine if we were pregnant on our backs. :-)

34.5 weeks - How I'm Doing:
50% Effaced / dialated 2cm
Weight: I've gained +16 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight.
However, I am +24 lbs from my 2nd trimester weight (I lost 8 lbs in the 1st trimester)
Skin is super tight, but no stretchmarks yet. THANK YOU MOM for good genes!
Heartburn, constipation, and fatigue are constant reminders that I'm housing another human.
Its hard to get comfortable at night. Multiple pillows propped up around me seem to help
My favorite foods: eggs, milk, cottage cheese, yogurt, nuts. I'm sensing a pattern. Dairy and protien!
I try not to pickup Owen (30 lbs), but sometimes I have to
No more exercise for me...but before 34 weeks I was walking 2 miles several nights a week.
My shirts are getting shorter, and my pants are getting ever and ever tighter!

The doc says i'm 50% effaced and dialated 2cm. This is ALL TOO FAMILIAR! Such a similar situation when I was pregnant the first time around...and my baby Owen was born just 2 days later, at 34 weeks. Yikes! I'm trying SO hard to stay pregnant until at least 36 weeks (which is July 6, 2012). Anytime after that this little baby girl can skip on out into the world.

Everyone has their 'it would be great if she were born on....' date. Grandparent and cousin birthdays, someone's anniversary, or a particular convenient day that Brian has off of work. But really, I don't care as long as its after July 6th.

My parents live over 600 miles away. I send pics via text as often as I think about it (probably not near as often as my mom would like). My last picture to my mom was taken the same day as the picture above but I pulled my shirt up to show how big my bump really is. Her comments have usually been "your so small...your stomach is small" When I sent the belly exposed, she said "Wow, your belly is really big, but your body is so small. You are a beanpole! You are so small except where the baby is."

I was slightly proud of being called a 'beanpole' at 34 weeks pregnant. I've NEVER thought of myself as thin, especially with this big baby bump hanging out in front of me all day.  Thanks mom for making my day. Now if this statement could be true AFTER I have this baby....lets hope and pray I can earn that title back! :-)

Basket Liners for Baby's Nursery

ONE DOWN...FIVE TO GO!

I'm making new basket liners for 6 baskets that will be in the baby's room. Turning them from boy/blue to girlie/flowers. I love the fabric, and it matches the bedding so well....Can't wait to post pictures of everything all finished. I hope I can get it all done in time before "Baby Girl Johnson" arrives.

I used the basket liner tutorial from Running with Scissors. I didn't cut my existing liner, but traced it onto paper and then used the paper pattern to cut out my new fabric.

My secret to saving fabirc: The ties don't go all the way around the basket.
They just go about 1/2" into the hem.  It still has enough tension to keep the liner on the basket,
but saved tons of FABRIC and TIME.

Top stitched around the top of the basket for a more professional look, and to strengthen the seam.

Oh so pretty! I really like how it turned out!

My Little Helper

Owen has been 'helping' me in the office as I sew his Quiet Book and do other various crafts. Look at him go! He unrolls the paper and then uses SCISSORS for the FIRST TIME. Then, he gets out his coloring supplies and creates a little masterpiece. He likes to show me his coloring/drawing when he is done. I always tell him what wonderful work he has done.

He is even playing with a few completed quiet book pages - they are a hit!

Happy Boy Owen! Playing In The Backyard

Owen is always happy! We have so much fun together and he is so sweet.
Owen's Stats
2 Years + 4 Months, 27 LBS, Size 2T clothes
Favorite food: bananas & any cereal & prunes (he thinks they are candy!)
Favorite words to say: juice, baba hoo (basket ball hoop), uh oh!, up, down, more
Favorite toys: flashlights, any car or truck toy, any animal toy
Favorite movie: Cars 2, Thomas the Train, and Emperors New Groove
Best friends: Landon & Boe

In these pictures we are playing in the backyard on the hammock that Kendall and Kira gave us years ago - we love this thing! Owen always wants to be outside, no matter the weather. I like how our dog tries to get close to the hammock, even though its swinging all over the place. He and Owen play really good together, and what a blessing that has been.

Dear Tip,
Thank you for being such a great dog and putting up with Owen swinging into you, crawling on you, and pulling your hair. We couldn't ask for a sweeter family dog than you!

Check out my purple flowers in the background - aren't they pretty? Of course I had to take a close up picture.

Thank you Heavenly Father for such a BEAUTIFUL world.
